First, you need to know that cheating a paywall
is illegal in most countries. Newspapers have to make money to pay for good journalism. However, if you browse many different newspapers on a regular basis you would have to be rather wealthy to afford all those subscriptions. So - if you still want to bypass a paywall there are several possibilities:
- Check out your local community library! Many have online-reading rooms with free-to-use subscriptions of important newspapers.
- University libraries are also a good choice for subscription-free online reading! Usually it is not too difficult to get access to these libraries.
- When you are reading from home, you may want to install 'Bypass Paywalls', a web browser extension to help bypass paywalls for selected sites.
Available both for Chrome and Firefox. There are instructions on the web. You can find the extension here.
- Try using the 'incognito' or 'private browsing' window of your browser.
- Try using a VPN, such as you can find in the TOR browser.
- Try cleaning your browser's history, cache and cookies.
- All of this may, or may NOT work - depending on how sophisticated the paywall is implemented.
- Also try this.
